Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2026
Bushcraftr™ is a community for people who spend time outdoors. This policy explains what we collect when you create a profile, how it is used, and the control you keep over it. By creating an account you agree to this policy.
What we collect
Account details you give us: your email address, password (stored encrypted by our authentication provider, never visible to us), handle, display name, bio, location text, profile photo or logo and any social links you add.
Content you create: posts, photos, videos and reels, comments, likes, map pins and trails, trading listings and private messages.
Basic technical information needed to run the site securely, such as timestamps and request logs from our hosting and database provider.
How we use it
To run your profile and feed, deliver your messages, show your map features, send the notifications you have switched on, verify your email address, keep handles unique, and review content for the community rules.
We do not sell your information and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Who can see what
Posts marked Public can be seen by other members; posts marked Camp or Secret are limited as described in your privacy settings. Private messages are visible only to the people in that conversation. Your map pins and trails, and the notes on them, are readable by members who visit your profile — do not publish coordinates you want kept private.
Photos and videos are stored privately and served through short-lived links. We block copying, cutting and downloading of other members' media, but no website can prevent screenshots, so only post what you are comfortable sharing.
Content rules and moderation
Submissions are screened automatically. Nudity, abuse, racism, political campaigning and violence toward people or animals are rejected. Lawful hunting, fishing and trapping content is allowed. The administrator can review, edit or remove any content and may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your posts, change or remove your profile photo, handle and details, block or restrict other members, turn notifications on or off, and ask for your account and content to be deleted. Blocking does not apply to the administrator, who keeps oversight of the whole site.
Children
Bushcraftr is not intended for anyone under 13, and we remove accounts we learn belong to children under 13.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update the date above and show the new version here. For privacy questions or a deletion request, message the administrator @cariboobackwoods from your account.
